after school program

EDCDC is founded on the philosophy that children, their families, and society benefit when children have a safe as well as fun place to spend their time after school.

The program is based on the belief that children need time to be children, but also a place where they can complete homework with the assistance of a caring adult.

Projects are planned, yet responsive to individual needs and environmental happenings. Opportunities are provided for the children to take responsibility, make decisions, and learn through play, group projects and activities.

Each child brings his or her own world to us each day. The cultural experiences and the ethnic values of the individual child must be incorporated into activities we provide.

A child’s positive feelings of self-worth must be the foundation of all planning.

What we provide:

  • Opportunities to participate in organized sports, cooking classes, and Jiu Jitsu as well as Mandarin classes and Piano lessons.
  • A quiet area to complete homework and receive assistance when necessary
  • A place where children are valued for their sense of wonder, and their natural desire for autonomy
  • Field trips and projects that are themed based, hands on, interactive, imaginative, integrated, and FUN!
  • A staff that works together for the benefit of the children
  • A place where families are valued for the support they provide their children, for the partnerships they build with our staff and for their willingness to entrust their children into our care.
